NWTS: Tarot, Food Trucks, and Friends

I went to Portland and all I saw was a food truck park.  There was such great variety of food and beverage and the company of someone I had only met online.

The Food Truck Park!

Portland is the home of Northwest Tarot Symposium (NWTS).  My experience at NWTS was in many ways like that food truck park.  It offered great variety in classes, back-to-back all weekend (hence I saw very little of Portland)…not to mention the opportunity to meet many online friends, acquaintances, and celebrities IRL.  If I start naming names, this simple blog post will get out of hand.  Check out my Instagram feed to see all the smiling faces, including the amazing staff of NWTS.

The Ramen

Like the ramen I had at Cartlandia, the attendees of the convention were so warm and generous.  I have never attended an event where everyone made an effort to include, well, everyone – in their conversations, meals and SHOPPING!!!

It was as difficult to choose what to bring home from the vendor hall as it was to choose my ramen.  Though Jamie Sawyer and Soultopia caught most of my interest and took home most of my money 😉, I also grabbed some crystals, readings, and other trinkets.   I haven’t caught up with my new friend Kim yet, but I have more bracelets on my wrists now than I have ever worn.

Food truck analogies aside, this was a life altering event for me.  I have attended a few other in person events since the pandemic began, even a tarot conference, but none can compare to what happened at the Monarch Hotel and Conference Center.

I am very grateful for the wonderful event Michelle, Roger, and their entire team made a reality this year.

Friday was all about shadow work for me.  Though this was not the focus of the Keynote speakers, each of their exercises revealed something I have viewed in the wrong way for years.

The weekend went on with shorter but as pungent exercises in class after class for 2 MORE DAYS!  These readings and the conversations with other attendees have transformed my mindset and my understanding of my own reality.  Don’t be surprised if you see a significant increase in my content and/or absence there of as I work on new projects.  😊

Ok, perhaps I did see more than a food truck park.  I also saw a bit of truth and some great views, like the view of my new path down the river of life and these hills.

The view from the plane.

I am so happy to have been able to meet you and talk and laugh! NWTS recharged so many of our personal energy batteries that it’s hard to put into a simple blog post! See you next year!

this is awesome Rosemary! I’m really happy we had an opportunity to hang out and talk tarot! I look forward to doing more of that in the future. I agree with you in that my mindset was changed also. Here’s to new adventures!
