#7PhilosophicalReadings

This post was moved from my Tumblr account where it was originally posted on August 24, 2019.

Benebell Wen proposed these readings on her YouTube channel and also did a blog post of her own results.  The links will be at the end of my own post below.  I chose to use her method of drawing, which was to choose the card following the Keeper (Key 0: The Fool) in my #SpiritKeepersTarot First Edition.

Below are each question, followed by the card(s) I drew and then my interpretation.

The Questions

1.   The Trolley Dilemma: Divert the course of nature and kill one to save five or let nature take its course and let the five die?

STRONGHOLD OF THE GRAIL (Page of Chalices); Message: The Outlaw (12)

The Spiritual Path is one of sacrifice.  This is inevitable.  We simply must decide for ourselves what best to sacrifice for the greater good.  Not choosing is a choice. A sacrifice will be made for us if we do nothing.  DIVERT THE TROLLEY!

2.   What difficult truth about the human condition are you ignoring?

THE DESTROYER (10 of Swords)

My downfall is a result of my actions.  Sure, things beyond my control happen, but how I respond determines the outcome.

3.   What does it mean to live a good life?

THE DYNASTY (10 of Orbs)

What are you leaving behind for the next generation?  This has been on my mind a lot lately.  It is why I am so motivated to finish a project and get it out into the world.  I have no children and at my current age, I feel compelled to leave something that people may benefit from after I am gone.

4.   Where does your self-worth come from?

THE HAUNT (9 of Swords)

This was somewhat of a shock and took a moment to wrap my head around.  This is about what fate has in store….this relates to the meaning of a good life.  My self worth comes from my ability to overcome the anxiety associated with achieving the good life.

5.   What had existed before our universe was created?

ACE OF SWORDS

Consciously, this would have been so much easier to interpret if it had been the Ace of Scepters. But I eventually arrived here:

Logos.  The divine word or spark; the power, force or energy that set it in motion.  The Big Bang.

6.   Are you ethically obligated to improve yourself?

APOCALYPSE (20)

Whether you improve yourself or not you will reap the results.  At some point there is no going back and changing who you are and what you have done. DO THE WORK NOW!

7.   What is Divinity?

THE ERUDITE (9)

The light in the darkness.  Inner wisdom that comes to us as without effort.
